Our Story & Philosophy
My name is Sarah.
I set up the Sustainable Planet Shop.
Our products are created to give people a choice of easy and cost effective solutions to reduce our plastic waste and harmful impact on the planet.
Many are handmade by myself and are well thought out, from design and use of materials to conception.
All our products are reusable and have been sourced and created ethically and eco-consciously, to have as little negative impact on the planet as possible..
Hi
I grew up wanting to rescue every animal, insect and bird I found.
As I got older my mission was to save the Whales and I followed Greenpeace. We held garage sales and washed cars with my friends, donating the money to welfare causes.
I began recycling and upcycling and changed my focus from global to local in a bid to make a difference.
It hit me when I realised that it wasn't just wildlife that needed saving, it was humans too!
Plastics, toxins and pollution was impacting the planet and everything in it..
For the birds and bees, the oceans, forests and wildlife, for our children and ourselves, something has to be done.
We all deserve clean water and fresh air!
I soon recognised the harrowing fact that I was becoming part of the problem, using plastic disposables and filling my fridge, cupboards, kitchen and bathroom with non recyclable products.
As I looked into alternatives I found that some sounded quite expensive and having two young children I would have struggled to make it work long term for our family.
Others I found sounded a bit daunting to implement.
So I started researching and testing out my own skills and eventually started to turn some of my own ideas into products.
My family and friends unwittingly became my guinea pigs and were eager for more, spurred on by positive feedback and the thought of being able to make changes that bit more accessible for more people,
The Sustainable Planet Shop had begun!
It is now our mission to bring more and more products to our shop from other talented and eco friendly artists and manufacturers for us all.
